November 5, 2009 By Patrick Stoetzer, Times Staff WriterCarroll County Times Manchester Valley and North Carroll are facing each other Friday night for the first time, a meeting recently dubbed "The Battle of the Bypass." The schools, separated by less than five miles, are connected by a new stretch of road, designed to ease congestion in that part of the county. They're also linked through the community. In some cases, families are divided between the schools. Kids who played rec football together are now squaring off on different sides. The rivalry even extends into the schools' administration. Dave Dolch is the athletic director at Manchester Valley. His wife, Kim, is the principal at North Carroll. Their relationship took an interesting turn this week. To read more, click here |
