A win gets each team into the Class 2A West playoffs and both teams would likely even be in with a loss. Winters Mill, on the other hand, needs a win and some help to give Carroll three playoff teams. Teams get eight points for beating a 4A opponent, seven points for a 3A foe, six for a 2A and five for a 1A. Bonus points are awarded for every win by a defeated opponent throughout the season. Then, the total is divided by the number of games played. The top four teams based on point averages qualify for the playoffs. In 2A West, Rockville (7-1) tops the standings with 62.5 points and a 7.81 average. The Rams, who play a nine-game schedule, have clinched a playoff spot. To read more, click here |
